As always, the folks at Retire South Magazine have been closely watching the comings and goings of retirees (and retiree wannabees) They’ve recently noticed some distinct changes in what people are looking for, and what they’re being offered, in their search for the perfect warmer climate home.
According to RSM, there are six new trends that we’re seeing in retirement relocation:
1. Small town living is on the rise
2. “Active Adult” communities are being developed rapidly and are extremely popular
3. The mountains and foothills are becoming increasingly popular
4. With a higher-than-average number of houses for sale, the coast is turning somewhat into a buyer’s market
5. While golf is still popular, more buyers are putting a premium on their natural surroundings
6. Formal retirement communities are becoming much more livable with great luxuries and wellness options
Is this what you’re seeing too? Would you add anything different to the list? We’d like to hear from you!
